Catalogue Note

A charming Norwegian teaspoon combining traditional craftsmanship with Art Nouveau sensibility. The bowl is executed in plain polished silver; the handle is sheathed in vibrant cloisonné enamel featuring interlocking geometric motifs in cobalt blue, coral red, and white. The enamel work shows excellent preservation with no chips or losses. Silver exhibits appropriate patina consistent with age and gentle use.

Spoon Lore

Norwegian enamelled spoons of the early 20th century were produced for the domestic market and export; the bold geometric palettes reflect Norwegian folk-art traditions such as rosemaling and woven textiles within the metalworking tradition.
